Cardiopulmonary (Heart) Resuscitation (CPR) Training to Students – Gaining Knowledge to Save Lives

Premiere Academy, Lugbe is dedicated to providing quality education to students to prepare them for success in their future endeavors. Our school offers a British Nigerian curriculum, experienced teachers, and a supportive community to help our students achieve their academic and personal goals. Our state-of-the-art facilities provide a safe and stimulating environment for learning, with modern classrooms, science labs, and computer labs. We also provide transportation services and a healthy meal program to ensure our students are comfortable and well-nourished throughout the day.

Health emergencies have no respect for any person, place, or time. It’s been ascertained that most health cases pose long-sufferings because of the initial mistake of not reacting knowledgeably to it or not being adequately prepared to combat the situation. To prevent this unwanted situation, we at Premiere Academy, equip our students and staff with the requisite knowledge needed to understand, prevent and appropriately deal with some of these health challenges.

It’s no news that one of the leading causes of sudden death in young athletes today is cardiac arrest, which could be triggered by so many factors; Hypertension, hypotension, and so on. It is wise to be equipped with the requisite knowledge and confidence required to respond to an emergency triggered by cardiac arrest.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a technique used to revive a person whose heart has stopped beating. The ability to perform CPR could mean the difference between life and death in an emergency.  By learning about CPR, students will also learn about the heart’s anatomy and how to recognize the signs of a heart attack.

According to the American Heart Association, the chances of survival decrease by 10% for every minute that passes without CPR. Our aim at Premiere Academy is to increase the number of people who can provide this life-saving assistance. Now, students and school staff have the opportunity to learn this vital skill that can be used at home, in the classroom, and out in their community.

CPR training takes a hands-on approach, helping students to develop critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills. In addition, the Premiere Academy CPR training also serves as a community service. By teaching students how to perform CPR, we are creating a new generation of intentional citizens who will be able to pass on the importance of the skill learned during the training like this to their individual communities around them, increasing our chances of having a safer society prepared for emergencies.

This training also enables students to make healthier choices and be more aware of their hearts. We have taken it as our responsibility here at Premiere Academy to ensure that the students, parents, and staff members of our school are equipped with this knowledge and skill making them high-value members of society.

We believe that every child has the potential to succeed at Premiere Academy and our Entrance Examination is the first step in unlocking that potential. Our Entrance Examination for the 2023/2024 academic session is on Saturday 29th April, 2023.
